During construction we achieved an overall recyclable diversion (waste) rate of 80% (Marin county requires 50%). Reverse Osmosis water provided for the customer produces waste water which is then captured and stored for use in the irrigation system for all of the site landscaping needs. All of the tile used in the store is 70% recycled, locally sourced clay materials with over 50% post consumer waste. All lighting in the store uses a control system that utilizes day lighting zones and motion detectors. In addition, all light fixtures in the store are LED controllable through an energy management system. Finally we 98% of the food we sell is organic - which is much easier on the planet, uses less water, creates less waste and does not have toxic chemicals running into our rivers and streams.
